Debbie Schluter-Office Manager

Debbie started working as a veterinary technician in 1988 in a small animal practice that had a special interest in treating exotic pets. During her 10 years there, she developed a strong passion for all exotic pets, especially pet birds. Her interest led her in many directions, all pertaining to exotic birds in one fashion or another. She started her own aviary and began breeding mutation cockatiels, conures, Amazon parrots and large macaws. After realizing there was an over abundance of unwanted pet birds that were ending up in sanctuaries, mostly due to behavioral problems, she stopped breeding birds and focused her time and energy on educating others on bird behavioral issues. She partnered with Chris Davis "The Bird Lady" and developed Bird Lady Productions, a video company that focused on avian behavior and cognition.Debbie took an 8 year break from working in a veterinary hospital and worked as a representative for Lafeber Company. As much as she loved Lafeber Company and their products, she missed being in a hospital environment, so in 2006 she returned, and directed her interest to veterinary management. In the spring of 2012 she started working for Parrish Creek Veterinary Clinic and has enjoyed her association with Dr. Folland and the rest of the staff.
